KickClip ("the Service") respects user privacy. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Google Account Information
When you sign in with Google OAuth, we collect:
- Email address
- Display name
- Profile picture URL
- Google account unique identifier (UID)
- Email verification status
- Authentication provider (google.com)
1.2 User-Generated Content
Content you explicitly save using the Service:
- URLs of saved web pages
- Page metadata (title, description, thumbnails)
- User-defined categories and folders
- Timestamps of save actions
1.3 Device Information (based on storage preference)
- Local folder path (stored only within the browser, never transmitted externally)
- Or Google Drive folder reference (when Drive storage is chosen)
2. How We Use Your Information
Collected information is used only for:
- User authentication and identification
- Separating and managing data on a per-user basis
- Providing save, view, and management features for your content
- Saving files to your chosen destination (local folder or Google Drive)
- Service improvement and error tracking (anonymized logs)
3. Data Storage and Retention
3.1 Storage Locations
- User profile and metadata: Google Firebase Firestore (server location: Asia Northeast, Seoul)
- File contents: User-chosen local folder or user's personal Google Drive
- Temporary data: Browser's IndexedDB and
chrome.storage
3.2 Retention Period
- Retained as long as you maintain your account
- Deleted immediately upon user request
- All related data is permanently deleted when you delete your account
4. Third-Party Disclosure
We do NOT sell, rent, or transfer your personal information to any third party.
Data flows to the following external services only as part of core functionality:
- Google Firebase: Backend service for data storage (operated by Google LLC)
- Google Drive API: When you choose Drive storage, files are uploaded to YOUR own Google Drive
Both integrations occur only with your explicit consent, and only you can access your data.
5. Your Rights and How to Exercise Them
You can exercise the following rights at any time:
- Access: View your saved data within the Service or via Google Firebase Console
- Modify: Use the Service's editing features
- Delete: Delete individual items via the Service, or request full account deletion
- Revoke Access: Remove KickClip's permissions at any time via Google Account Security Settings

6. Security Measures
We apply the following measures to protect your information:
- All communications use HTTPS protocol
- OAuth 2.0-based secure authentication
- Per-user data access control via Firebase Security Rules
- Principle of least privilege: Drive access requests only the
drive.file scope (limited to files created or opened by this app)
- We do NOT collect sensitive data such as full email contents or passwords
7. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for children under 13. If we become aware of personal information collected from a child under 13, we will delete it immediately.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
This policy may be updated to reflect changes in law or service functionality. We will post updates on this page. For material changes, we will provide additional notice via email.
